Mission
Sun Valley Beautiful's mission is to engage everyone to take greater responsibility for improving our community environments. We are dedicated to shining a positive light on the historical contributions of its members to Sun Valley, to recruit new members to the movement, and to spur new activities that enhance the quality of life for residents and businesses. Sun Valley Beautiful hopes to improve the physical appearance of the community and contribute to its continued vitality as part of the City of Los Angeles.
History
Sun Valley Beautiful was created January 2004 as an initiative of the Sun Valley Area Chamber of Commerce dedicated to engaging individuals and business to take great responsibility for improving the Sun Valley community. The solutions-oriented coalition developed in part as a response to negative criticisms and portrayals of the area. Participating businesses want to be more visibly active in their economic development, community enhancement and philanthropic work.
In 2009, Sun Valley Beautiful became a stand-alone 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
