Councilmember Tony Cardenas Generously Donates $10,000 to Sun Valley Gateway Project
Sun Valley, October 17, 2005 –
Councilmember Tony Cardenas today announced that his office is generously donating $10,000 towards the Sun Valley Beautiful gateway/median project.
The funds from Councilmember Cardenas will supplement the $10,000 that Sun Valley Beautiful recently raised from Sun Valley businesses and organizations, including Vulcan Materials, Sun Valley Paper Stock, Industrial Metal Supply Company, the Rotary Club of Sun Valley and Waste Management. Additionally, Arthur Sweet, President of A&E Development Co. Inc, and a local businessman and property owner, generously donated $5,000.
“A sense of pride is important to building a renewed community,” said Councilmember Cardenas on Monday. “I appreciate community groups like Sun Valley Beautiful that are stepping up and donating their time, materials and money to make Sun Valley a better place to live and work.”
Donors for project materials and services include the following companies: Angelus Block, Vulcan Materials, SV Equipment Rentals and People in Progress.
“Councilmember Cardenas’ contribution towards the gateway project is an important sign that we’re gaining momentum in Sun Valley for beautification and improvement,” said Jim Dean, chairman of Sun Valley Beautiful. “We are proud to be working with his office on this project and look forward to completing these gateways in the next few months.”
